McKelvey's industry connections run deep

McKelvey helps students move into their preferred career paths by leveraging a rich ecosystem of corporate, clinical, industry and alumni relationships in research, curriculum and recruitment, including:

  • Partnering with major defense and aerospace contractors, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin and geospatial intelligence firms.
  • Nurturing active corporate recruiting pipelines through the McKelvey Industry Connect platform. Companies regularly sponsor capstone design projects, fund research and recruit AI talent directly. These include tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Apple and major consulting firms such as Accenture, Deloitte and MasterCard.
  • Connecting with the Cortex Innovation Community, just minutes from campus, which houses 400 companies, technology incubators and corporate innovation centers. McKelvey students frequently pursue internships or even launch startups at Cortex.
  • Embracing St. Louis as a burgeoning tech, geospatial and biomedical hub. Students have many opportunities to secure co-ops, internships and other practical training opportunities while studying.

What played into your decision to get a graduate engineering degree?

"A combination of research experience, teaching assistantships and summer projects with various faculty members at Beloit College motivated me to pursue a graduate engineering degree at WashU."
